Elcimaï is designing and building SAFRAN's new site in La Teste de Buch

SAFRAN has selected the Elcimaï Group to design and build the expansion of its production facility in La Teste de Buch (33), near Arcachon, for which the cornerstone was laid today. The turnkey project specifically involves the construction of an industrial building with a floor area of 3,900 m².

The entire new structure, connected to the existing facility, will have a capacity of at least 200 people. It will feature a space for industrial assembly operations and another for administrative and technical offices, separated by a fire wall. A 200-space parking lot is also planned. This parking lot, along with access roads, was built thanks to a €750,000 investment grant from the Communauté d’Agglomération du Bassin d’Arcachon Sud (COBAS).

Industrial, pneumatic, electrical, IT, heating, and air conditioning systems, as well as access control, will be added to the project ; intrusion detection and video surveillance will be integrated into the new building.

As SAFRAN DATA SYSTEMS is certified to OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001, special emphasis is placed on health, safety, the environment, and workplace well-being, all of which were taken into account from the design phase of the entire infrastructure.

This project will involve several teams from the Elcimai Group, including those in Melun, Toulouse, and Chambéry, specifically Elcimaï Réalisations (developer), Elcimaï Ingénierie, and Elcimaï Environnement (project managers).

SAFRAN, the project owner and project management consultant, is represented by Mr. Lamotte. Preference was given to local, well-established companies. Completion is scheduled for November 2020.

Following the sites in Buchelay (78), Commercy (55), Le Creusot (71), and Bordes (64), this project marks the SAFRAN Group’s renewed confidence in Elcimaï. It should be noted that through its subsidiary Elcimaï Environnement (formerly GIRUS GE), the Elcimaï
Group is already collaborating with the Communauté d’Agglomération du Bassin d’Arcachon Sud (COBAS) on a study for the recovery of shellfish waste.
