Elcimaï delivers a 31,000-square-meter production facility to Clarins near Troyes

Meet the Clarins Group

Clarins, a global family-owned cosmetics group, has begun operations at its second production facility located in Sainte-Savine, in the Grand Troyes industrial park (10). The company entrusted the turnkey construction of the facility to the Elcimaï Group, a specialist in cutting-edge industrial and logistics engineering, particularly in the cosmetics sector.

As a French company, Clarins has always prioritized “Made in France” products and short supply chains. This second production site, complementing the one in Pontoise, further secures Clarins’ production in France and provides the group with the capacity needed to expand its range of cosmetic products.
Clarins has been innovating for 70 years in the pursuit of responsible beauty. The result of ongoing research, its plant-based products—formulated and manufactured in France—are available in over 150 countries through 20,000 retail locations.

Built on a 12-hectare site, this new 31,000-square-meter facility includes manufacturing, packaging, and storage areas, as well as administrative offices and a quality control laboratory. It was designed to eventually produce 100 million units per year, which is equivalent to the output of the Pontoise facility.

It is part of Clarins’ CSR commitments and reflects its mission :
“To make life more beautiful and leave behind a more beautiful world.”

SOLUTIONS IMPLEMENTED AT THE NEW PRODUCTION FACILITY

“To ensure the site aligns with the Clarins Group’s CSR commitments, Elcimaï proposed implementing robust decarbonization solutions : geothermal energy to heat and cool the building, solar panels to generate electricity and domestic hot water, a rainwater harvesting system, an industrial wastewater treatment plant, and the reuse of waste heat,” explains Jean-Pierre Fradin, Technical Director at Elcimaï Ingénierie.
“The site thus meets the HQE Excellent and BREEAM Very Good criteria.”

Completed in 19 months and delivered to Clarins on November 6, 2024, this major facility project represents a total investment of approximately 135 million euros and is expected to create 300 jobs.
