Elcimaï Environnement has been awarded the Qualimétha® certification
Born out of a desire to improve the reliability of biogas plants by leveraging best practices in design and construction, the Qualimétha® label was developed by the ATEE Biogas Club between 2018 and 2019. It helps promote the biogas sector while advancing the concept of sustainable agriculture. An assessment of the sector’s level of development and the accident rate associated with this type of facility has indeed demonstrated the need to raise the standards of those involved in anaerobic digestion.

As the French leader in organic waste management in general (regional plans, collection, treatment) and in anaerobic digestion and biogas in particular, Elcimaï Environnement, a subsidiary of the Elcimaï Group, has always been committed to initiatives promoting quality in design and execution, operability, maintainability, equipment robustness, sustainability, strict compliance with regulations, as well as health and safety measures on construction sites and for operators.
It was therefore a natural step for Elcimaï Environnement to pursue the Qualimétha® certification process. In fact, as early as 2019, it was one of five pilot engineering firms selected to test the audit criteria and propose adjustments based on its feedback.
Elcimaï Environnement obtained the certification during the first round of certifications. It is also the first engineering firm independent of any construction company to be certified in both fields : Project Owner Assistance and Project Management.
The certification is promoted by stakeholders who support project developers : ADEME and other public authorities, banks, and insurers. Effective January 1, 2021, ADEME will make financial assistance to project developers contingent upon support from a Qualimétha®-certified engineering firm.
