Elcimaï Environnement has had its Qualimétha2® certification renewed
Developed by the Association Technique Énergie Environnement (ATEE), the Qualimétha® label aims to promote the biogas sector while supporting the concept of sustainable agriculture. Elcimaï Environnement received this certification in January 2020 during the first round of certification. Its certification has just been renewed based on the new Qualimétha2® evaluation grid.
Qualimétha® was created to enhance the reliability of biogas facilities by drawing on best practices in design and construction. Developed by the ATEE Biogas Club, this certification establishes a quality framework for industry stakeholders, facilitating the effective development of projects through an independent process recognized by public authorities.
An assessment of the sector’s current state of development and the impact of failures in this type of facility has indeed demonstrated the need to professionalize and structure the anaerobic digestion sector.
Elcimaï Environnement, whose expertise in anaerobic digestion is based on some forty projects since 2018* and which has dedicated some thirty employees to this sector, obtained the Qualimétha® label in January 2020 during the first round of certification.
Since January 1, 2023, a new evaluation grid has governed the awarding of the Qualimétha®2 label. Elcimaï Environnement has just had its certification renewed based on these more stringent criteria. As in 2020, Elcimaï Environnement is once again the first consulting and engineering firm to obtain certification as a General Contractor, combined with Project Owner Assistance.

“Elcimaï Environnement has always been committed to initiatives that promote quality in design and execution, operability, maintainability, equipment robustness, and sustainability, as well as strict compliance with regulations and health and safety measures on construction sites and for operators,” explains Francis Pelmont, CEO of Elcimaï Environnement. It therefore seemed natural for us to join the Qualimétha® initiative.
In fact, as early as 2019, we were among the five pilot companies tasked with testing the audit grid and suggesting adjustments based on our feedback. Today, we are happy and proud—both for our teams and our clients—to see our certification renewed. Internally, this certification also serves as a powerful motivator for rigor and method, benefiting all our business lines : energy, waste, and water treatment. “
The certification is encouraged by the stakeholders supporting the project sponsor : ADEME and other public authorities, banks, and insurers. ADEME makes its financial assistance to project sponsors contingent on the use of a Qualimétha®-certified consulting and engineering firm.
