The XXL logistics platform property offering in Amiens St Sauveur : Meeting the need for logistics optimization and environmental expectations
The primary objective of the environmental approach for the Amiens Saint-Sauveur logistics platform project is to move toward carbon neutrality, which is the approach identified by the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) as the means to limit global warming to 2°C by 2100 compared to pre-industrial levels (1850).
For the project scope, this goal of moving toward carbon neutrality is structured around the following key areas :

ENERGY
- Energy efficiency : high thermal performance of the building
- Efficient use : optimized operational management integrated into the project
- Energy efficiency and low-carbon : integration of high-performance equipment that uses no refrigerants
- Integration of renewable energy to move toward energy self-sufficiency : solar photovoltaic and thermal systems sized to optimize the self-consumption rate
Site users are involved in the project design, and ELCIMAÏ is committed to the operational phase, particularly during the first year, with :
- Training for users and operators
- One-year monitoring and support service for users and building managers
- Seasonal commissioning during the first year of operation of the equipment and building envelope
MATERIALS

Integration of high-performance, low-carbon materials and products, particularly in the following structural elements :
- Structure : superstructure
- Insulation materials
- Facade cladding
- Permeable paving for certain roadways and parking areas
- Wood is planned for the building’s roof framing and structure. Low-carbon materials are incorporated into the walls, notably prefabricated wood-straw panels for the site’s offices.


BIODIVERSITY
- Provisions regarding the layout of spaces, their nature, and plant species are incorporated to enhance the site’s biodiversity based on an ecological engineering assessment of the existing site.
WATER
- The project site is self-sufficient in drinking water, with the exception of human food consumption.
- Stormwater management is handled on-site without discharge into the public sewer system. Its reuse for the site’s needs is being studied and incorporated.
- Measures are incorporated to prevent any soil pollution from runoff.


MOBILITY
- Secure, weather-protected bicycle storage with a capacity of at least 20 % of the occupants.
- Facilities equipped with showers and changing rooms.
- Electric vehicle charging stations for at least 3 % of the passenger vehicle parking capacity.
This environmental approach is also guided by the goal of obtaining BREEAM New Construction certification at a minimum of the VERY GOOD level (2016 version of the standard).
