Pharmacosmetech 2020 : Spotlight on Industry 4.0
As a designer and builder of cosmetic and pharmaceutical production facilities for over 25 years, the family-owned Elcimaï Group has adopted an “Industry 4.0” approach to help manufacturers address their economic, technological, and societal challenges.
Thanks to the establishment of an R&D unit, Elcimaï has successfully designed a building with a sustainable envelope that addresses these challenges. For this mid-sized company based in the Paris region, manufacturers must have an
- eco-responsible site to improve profitability, image, and shared social commitment,
- modular, to modify layouts at lower cost and more easily accommodate changes in the factory,
- and connected, to ensure optimized energy consumption and productivity.
This concept of the Sustainable Industrial Envelope (EID®) aims to adapt to changes in its occupants’ operations without major renovations, by making the manufacturer’s production process independent of the building structure.
Developed using a digital twin, the EID® enables a significant reduction in implementation time (from design to commissioning), as well as unprecedented flexibility of use, thanks to the recyclability and reversibility of the production facilities.
The building is also equipped with computerized monitoring of energy and utilities, making it more efficient, greener, and more energy-efficient, while ensuring enhanced maintainability.
A concept particularly well-suited to the “turnkey” sites proposed by the Government last July as part of the “Rebound Package.”
