Elcimaï’s career fair makes headlines
To find new employees, Elcimaï is taking an innovative approach to recruitment. Specializing in engineering, digital technology, construction, and the environment, the company, founded in Seine-et-Marne, is launching a recruitment campaign to fill positions at its headquarters in Melun (Seine-et-Marne), as well as at its offices in Saint-Mandé (Val-de-Marne), Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône (Val-d’Oise), and its sites in Lyon (Rhône), Nantes (Loire-Atlantique), and Toulouse (Haute-Garonne).
Elcimaï is organizing a recruitment session at a climbing gym
In total, there are about thirty positions to be filled, and the recruitment event is unusual to say the least. After registering in advance, candidates will meet on Friday, March 18, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Le Rempart in Vert-Saint-Denis, a climbing gym named after a historic climbing site in the Forest of Fontainebleau.
“We wanted to find a creative and fun way to recruit new employees,” explains Valérie Bourgeois, the company’s human resources director. “It was Axel Denier, the group’s deputy CEO, who came up with the idea for this recruitment campaign. A big fan of rock climbing, he frequents this gym, especially in the winter.” The company’s name, Elcimaï, is actually inspired by a famous French climbing site, Le Cimaï, located in the Var region.
With this highly publicized recruitment campaign, Elcimaï aims to highlight the athletic and friendly nature of its company. And sports activities will be an integral part of the recruitment process. “We will form small teams of candidates who will be supervised by volunteer employees,” she explains. “The climbing course will primarily be a way to reveal personalities and qualities, and to observe team behavior : solidarity, team spirit, etc. It’s also a way to highlight our company’s values.”
For those who are afraid of heights, traditional interviews will also be offered. “We’ve scheduled the event for late Friday afternoon so that candidates can come with their families ; the idea is to enjoy a friendly atmosphere and break away from traditional recruitment formats.” The positions offered are permanent contracts, but the company also offers work-study programs and internships.
Seeking diverse profiles across various fields of expertise
While the company currently has 380 employees across France, it faces significant staffing needs as it can no longer meet customer orders in its various areas of expertise.
“We need to expand and are looking for diverse candidates for these positions,” reveals the human resources director. “The positions are often open to both junior and experienced candidates : we want to prioritize expertise in the candidates.” Candidates must therefore possess values such as “a commitment to service, attention to detail, and reliability.”
The positions span all of Elcimaï’s business lines and sectors. In IT, for example, the company is seeking .NET R&D engineers, project managers, Java J2EE engineers, and integration consultants. In the engineering sector, the company is seeking electrical engineers, building engineers, and building energy efficiency engineers, as well as project managers and design engineers.
Finally, in the environmental sector, Elcimaï is looking for anaerobic digestion process engineers, waste or energy consultants, as well as a networks and roads manager. Before tackling the climbing wall, candidates must submit a resume and a cover letter.
